Workers' mutual assistance and loan fund

Amendments to the statutes of the workers' mutual assistance and loan fund of UMCS

The Extraordinary General Meeting of the members of the workers' mutual assistance and loan fund of UMCS in Lublin on 19 June 2024 adopted a number of amendments to the issue of the amount of loans and funeral benefits and, consequently, to the changes to the contributions. The changes introduced will be effective for members of the workers' mutual assistance and loan fund 30 days after their enactment.

The main changes, included in the amended version of the Statutes of the workers' mutual assistance and loan fund at the UMCS published on the UMCS website, are as follows:

1. Annuitants and pensioners who remain members of workers' mutual assistance and loan fund are obliged to pay a single annual contribution of PLN 20 for the membership contribution and PLN 20 for the funeral fund. Pensioners paying annual contributions of PLN 40 for membership contributions and PLN 40 for the funeral fund benefit from workers' mutual assistance and loan fund loans and allowances. Failure to pay contributions may result in the denial of benefits from workers' mutual assistance and loan fund.

2. Newly admitted members of the workers' mutual assistance and loan fund pay a one-off registration fee of PLN 50. Working members of workers' mutual assistance and loan fund pay a monthly membership contribution of not less than 40 PLN. The minimum membership contribution after 12 months of workers' mutual assistance and loan fund membership should be 480 PLN for a person doing paid work for UMCS.

3. Members of the workers' mutual assistance and loan fund with at least two months of membership and a registration fee of PLN 50 and contributions paid of min. PLN 500 are entitled to receive an interest-free loan from the fund created from member contributions. The maximum loan of PLN 20,000 can be obtained by the borrower with a contribution of at least PLN 7,000 for a declared period of up to 40 months. The borrower may not withdraw the above contribution until the loan has been repaid up to the amount of the loan security. Withdrawal of the contribution is tantamount to resignation from workers' mutual assistance and loan fund membership. The table below shows the criteria for receiving loans of smaller amounts as well.
