Paid sabbatical leaves
SABBATICAL LEAVES – academic teachers (Article 130 of the Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742 as amended)
- paid sabbatical leave - during 7 years of employment at a given university
The rector may grant an academic teacher holding at least the academic degree of PhD, during a period of seven years of employment at a given higher education institution, paid sabbatical leave of a total duration not exceeding one year in order to conduct.
- sabbatical leave for the preparation of a doctoral dissertation
An academic teacher preparing a doctoral dissertation may be granted paid sabbatical leave not exceeding three months.
- leave for the purposes of training abroad, for a research or teaching placement, for participation in a conference, or for participation in joint research with a foreign entity on the basis of a scientific cooperation agreement.
Paid leave shall be granted before the beginning of the following semester.
Paid leave is granted by the Rector at the employee's request, after obtaining the opinion of the Faculty Council, and in the case of employees of units other than basic units, after obtaining the opinion of the head of the relevant organisational unit.
