The EUniverCities network is a cooperation platform that was established in 2012. It brings together fifteen European cities that are strong academic centres, including the City of Lublin, which has been a member since 2014.
The Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin is undoubtedly pleased to be an active partner of the city in this project. The several-day meeting, which was inaugurated on 5 June 2023, was opened by the Vice-Rector for Development and Business Cooperation, prof. Zbigniew Pastuszak, and the Director of the Department of Strategy and Entrepreneurship of the City Hall, dr Mariusz Sagan.
The visit to Lublin is an excellent opportunity to exchange good practices in shaping city-university cooperation, to take further initiatives at the local level and to disseminate ideas and promote the activities undertaken.
The event was attended by members of the UMCS Welcome Centre team, Maciej Cieciora and Robert Ainebyona, who in panel discussions presented the Centre's activities and projects, which are financed by NAWA, the National Agency for Academic Exchange.
The International Cooperation Centre team was responsible for co-organising the event on the part of the university.
