On 27 April 2022, we held workshops under the 'Language without borders' slogan conducted by foreign students of UMCS for high school students in Lublin.
The meeting was organised in Zespół Szkół nr 5 in Lublin and consisted of conducting language and cultural workshops for four classes by a student of International Relations at the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism of UMCS from Namibia – Pennina Gwanatjie Shilongo and a graduate of UMCS from Uganda – Robert Ainebyona. The meeting was another event organised in the Outreach Program for High Schools formula. Previous meetings were held at Liceum im. Królowej Jadwigi and at Liceum Śródziemnomorskie im. św. Dominika Guzmana.
The aim of the 'Language without borders' workshops, which are carried out until the end of the summer semester as part of the NAWA Welcome to Poland project, is the intercultural integration of foreign students studying at our University with the community of the city and region and the promotion of the English-language educational offer of UMCS among high school students.
The meetings are held as part of the implementation of the Welcome to Poland – 'UMCS 4 All' project, financed by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange. The meeting at Zespół Szkół nr 5 in Lublin was organised in cooperation with dr Liliana Węgrzyn-Odzioba from the Department of International Relations of the Institute of Political Science and Administration of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University.
