Strefa Kultury Studenckiej is a space dedicated to cultural activity of Wrocław’s students. The building was finished in 2015 by Politechnika Wrocławska. Thanks to standing in the center of the University’s campus it is the heart of student life. The building features a multifunctional auditorium for 1000 people, which on a day-to-day basis serves as a student cafeteria. On the first floor there is a cafe and a student club which can fit 250 people. On the second floor there is a cafe mezzanine, exhibition space and an outer patio for 300 people. On each floor there is also a cozy room for 50 people, office space and space for the cafeteria employees. The building is used by two bodies: Dział Stołówek Studenckich and Dział Studencki Politechniki Wrocławskiej. Both bodies function under the vice-rector for student issues of PWr. Dział Studencki is responsible for the support of students with organizing such events as: science conferences, galas, exhibitions, student science organizations presentations, concerts and student parties. SKS is in possession of multimedia equipment and a full electroacoustic system which allows professional art groups to perform here. University staff and students from Katedra Akustyki i Multimediów Wydziału Informatyki i Telekomunikacji are responsible for the events.
During the past few years of SKS operations we organized more than hundred projects with various themes and scale. The most interest was in comedy shows, which were a part of Festiwal Wrocek, evenings with board games and cyclical Festiwal Gier Planszowych Gratislavia, programming hack-a-thons and student parties such as Otrzęsiny PWr and Sylwester Studencki.
