Izabela Pastuszko

The director of ACK UMCS Chatka Żaka, initiator and representative of the rector  of the Student Culture Forum.

Professional lawyer and ar historian (graduate of the Maria Curie Skłodowska University in Lublin (UMCS) and the Warsaw University), doctoral student at the UMCS’s History Institute of the Humanities Department, where she is working on a doctoral thesis in the field of the history of architecture and urban anthropology titled “Late modernism in Lublin. Between ideas and practice.” She has finished with honors postgraduate studies for Culture Managers at the Warsaw School of Economics. She’s an author of “University District Architecture in Lublin” monograph published by Wydawnictwo UMCS in 2013. She’s the initiator and founder of Lubelska Agora Modernizmu and creator of Lubelskie Dni Modernizmu festival. Professionally she’s been connected with Zachęta National Art Gallery, City Historic Preservation Office in Lublin and Culture Conference Center in Lublin. She is a member of Lublin’s Towarzystwo Zachęta Sztuk Pięknych and Stowarzyszenie Historyków Sztuki (Art Historians Society). She’s an author of scientific publications and press articles on issues concerning post-war architectural heritage in Lublin. She participated in numerous educational projects popularizing architecture and urbanism by directing, among others, architectural walks for Lublin’s citizens and open lectures on the issues of space. In 2015 she was a part of curator team that worked on and created an exhibition titled “(A)Symetrie. Sztuka współczesna w kontekście muzeum” which was shown in the Muzeum Lubelskie in Lublin. In her work she focused on looking for a common form of education and on supporting research in the field of architecture and space by working as an acting vice-director of the National Institute of Architecture and urbanism from January of 2018 till April of 2019.

 

Ilona Woźniak-Kostecka

Graduate of Land Management studies and doctorate student in the Landscape and Land Management Studies Department at  the Biology University in Lublin. Coorganizer and coordinator of cultural events such as: Lubelskie Dni Modernizmu Festival, International Architecture-Urbanism Workshops, Urban Summer School – Open Form 2019 and Nationwide Architectural Walks as well as numerous symposia and science conferences. She has worked in the National Institute of Architecture and Urbanism as a specialist for outdoor projects and exhibitions. She has coordinated research on the topic of shaping landscape and aesthetics of public spaces in municipalities and a diagnosis  of directions of development of student culture in Poland. Coauthor of “Modernizm między budynkami” scientific monograph. She works for the sake of local communities by offering public consultations and workshops and trainings for students. Currently she is a coordinator of Student Culture Forum projects in Academic Culture Center UMCS Chatka Żaka. 

 

Bogdan Bracha

Musician and culture animator. He is one of the most recognizable characters on the Polish folk scene, he is also a practitioner and theoretician of this trend. Founder and leader of Orkiestra św. Mikołaja. He has played thousands of concerts and recorded 13 albums with his band. Author of such music projects as: Się Gra, “Odpust Zupełny”, “Kapela Łem” and other projects focused mainly on animating work with young people, mostly from academic background.  He is directing music workshops and student art and culture camps. He is responsible for the program and art aspects of Bakcynalia and Mikołajki Folkowe festivals. He is also a member of “Pismo Folkowe” editorial office.   

 

Violetta Dryło

Professional artist (graduate of the Institute of Art Education at UMCS, her thesis was written under prof. Grzegorz Dobiesław Mazurek’s supervision), certified teacher of ballroom dancing and choreographer. In art she picks etno design – traditional craft transposed onto modern design, art pieces and functional forms, meanwhile in her professional life she is fulfilled by ballroom dancing. She has always been working with and for the students. In Academic Culture Center UMCS Chatka Żaka she was an art director and choreographer for Zespół Tańca Towarszyskiego UMCS Impetus and organizer of numerous concerts and dance shows. She was also a member of Zarząd Okręgu Lubelskiego Polskiego Towarzystwa Tanecznego (Lublin’s Division of Polish Dance Society).

 

Karolina Kałkucka

Senior year student of Management in Culture at Culture Studies at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University. She’s a traveller that on an everyday basis is responsible for promotion and communication. She volunteers in organizing many festivals, Wschód Kultury – Inne Brzmienia, Noc Kultury, Lubelski Festiwal Filmowy, among others. She worked as an animator at Dzielnicowy Dom Kultury Bronowice in Lublin. She gained experience in promotion working in the marketing department of the Student Travel travel agency. She combines her love for culture with working in the Communication and Promotion Department at the Academic Culture Center UMCS Chatka Żaka. Privately she loves to travel, not only to some places, but most importantly through culture. In the project she is responsible for communication and promotion.

 

Paweł Bik

Graduate of Journalism and Social Communication at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. Currently he is studying Media and Publicity Management at Jagiellonian University in Kraków. He also works in the Promotion and Communication Department at Academic Culture Center UMCS Chatka Żaka.

For a couple of years he was associated with Teatr Akademicki UMCS, Telewizja Akademicka TV UMCS and local media. Screenwriter and host of “Flesz Akademicki” program broadcast on the TVP3 Lublin channel. Live programs host. Author of news, interviews and reports on culture and science.
