The goal of the Student Culture Forum project is development and research of student culture in Poland. The project is coordinated by the Chatka Żaka – Maria Curie-Skłodowska’s academic culture center.
Student culture is the search for freedom in all kinds of activities – student theater, music, poetry, art, cabaret. In thirty years, since the systemic transformation, how students’ cultural life is organized and how academic culture centers are run has changed. These changes have inspired us to ponder how student culture looks today. The answer is the Student Culture Forum.
“Directions of student culture development in Poland diagnosis” – report
The first step that the Student Culture Forum took was conducting a countrywide survey among 1633 students on their activities in the field of culture. The result of this survey is the report “Diagnosis of the state of student culture in Poland.” This research was conducted in cooperation with National Center of Culture.
“Diagnosis of the state of student culture in Poland” report is a basis for specifying the needs of students and the conditions essential for the development of students culture in Poland. It’s also a basis for developing guidelines for nationwide programs and academic culture centers as well as creating a web portal, that will bring together institutions that deal with student culture.
The key aspect of this project will be, planned for Autumn of 2021, Nationwide Student Culture Forum, which will be organized in ACK UMCS Chatka Żaka in Lublin. During the Forum we will meet with representatives of state authorities, academic culture centers and students, all this to present an in-depth analysis of the phenomenon of student culture in the 21st century reality.
The originator of the idea for this project is Izabela Pastuszko, the director of ACK UMCS Chatka Żaka, representative of the Student Culture Forum rector.
The ACK UMCS Chatka Żaka team that is working on the Forum is built by: Paweł Bik, Bogdan Bracha, Violetta Dryło, Agnieszka Dudek, Karolina Kałkucka i Ilona Woźniak-Kostecka.
The project was co-financed by the Minister’s of Education and Science program - “The Social Responsibility of Science.”
