1. Who can participate?

  • Students of UMCS enrolled in first-cycle (Bachelor’s), second-cycle (Master’s), and long-cycle Master’s programs, as well as doctoral students.
  • Mobility is possible from the second year of first-cycle studies.
  • The minimum mobility period is 2 months, and the maximum is 12 months per study level (Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD). For long-cycle Master’s programs, the maximum is 24 months.
    Long term mobilites typically last one semester (4–5 months) but can also extend to a full academic year.

2. Where and when does recruitment take place?

  • Recruitment is conducted within the student’s faculty (or other home unit) based on agreements signed with foreign universities for specific study programs.
  • It usually takes place in February/March for mobilities planned in the following academic year. Faculties may also announce an additional recruitment in October for mobilities in the second semester of the same academic year, provided that financial resources are still available.

3. Funding:

  • A scholarship of €600 or €670 per month, depending on the destination country.
  • Additional funding of €250 per month for students classified as "students with fewer opportunities."
  • A travel allowance, the amount which depends on the distance and mode of travel:
    • Standard travel (by plane) with a regular allowance
    • "Green travel" (means of transport: car, train, bus) with an increased allowance if specific criteria are met
  • Support for travel days:Students with disabilities may apply for additional financial support ("inclusion support") according to specific guidelines.
    • For standard travel: up to 2 days of additional funding.
    • For green travel: up to 6 days of additional funding, under specified conditions.

4. Formalities after qualification:

Before departure:

  • Prepare and obtain approval for the Learning Agreement for Studies (LA).
  • Submit an application to the host university within the deadline and receive confirmation of acceptance.
  • Obtain travel insurance and a visa (if required).
  • Option to take a language test and participate in a language course on the OLS platform.
  • Submit any additional required documents to the Erasmus+ Office (if applicable).
  • Sign the mobility agreement.

During the mobility period:

  • Obtain confirmation of the start of studies from the host university.
  • Submit any necessary changes to the Learning Agreement within a maximum of 30 days after the start of mobility (if changes occur).
  • Collect all necessary documents from the host university required for final settlement at the end of the mobility period.

After returning:

Students must settle their mobility at the Erasmus+ Office with the following documents (and separately at the Dean’s Office or with the faculty coordinator):

  • Confirmation of Study Period (indicating the dates of the study period).
  • Transcript of Records (list of completed courses with earned ECTS credits) issued by the host institution.
  • Learning Agreement for Studies (with any modifications).
  • Learning Agreement for Studies – After the Mobility section.
  • Completion of the EU Survey (online questionnaire).
