1. Who can apply?
- UMCS students and PhD candidates, as well as recent graduates, if they are selected in their final year. The internship must take place within 12 months of graduation.
- Long-term internships: Minimum 2 months, maximum 6 months.
- Short-term internships: Minimum 5 days, maximum 30 days of physical mobility, plus a mandatory virtual component (optional for PhD candidates).
2. Where and when to apply?
- At the Faculty (or home unit) – for programs that have agreements with foreign institutions. Recruitment takes place in February/March.
- At the Erasmus Program Office – for students who find a host institution on their own. Applications are accepted until April 30 for internships during summer or the following academic year.
- If there are remaining funds, applications will be continuously accepted at the Erasmus Program Office, with selection based on the order of applications.
- The Faculty Committee, led by the Faculty/Program Coordinator, determines the selection criteria and announces them publicly. For individual applications, the Erasmus Program Office handles the process.
3. Funding
- Long-term internships:
- 750-820 EUR per month, depending on the country.
- Extra 250 EUR per month for students with fewer opportunities.
- Short-term internships (5-30 days):
- 79 EUR per day (5-14 days), 56 EUR per day (15-30 days).
- Extra 100 EUR for students with fewer opportunities (5-14 days) or 150 EUR (15-30 days).
- Travel allowance: Based on distance and type of travel (regular or green travel).
- Extra funding for travel days: Up to 2 days (regular travel) or 6 days (green travel).
- Students with disabilities can apply for additional support
4. Before departure:
- Submit an invitation letter from the host institution (for individual applications).
- Define and approve the Learning Agreement for Traineeships.
- Obtain insurance and a visa (if required).
- Optionally, take a language test and course on the OLS platform.
- Submit any other required documents to the Erasmus Program Office.
- Sign the mobility agreement.
5. During the traineeship:
- Obtain a confirmation of the internship start from the host organization.
- Make changes to the Learning Agreement within 30 days (only if necessary).
- At the end of the internship, collect all required documents from the host organization.
6. After Returning:
To finalize the mobility, submit the following documents to the Erasmus Program Office (and separately to the Dean’s Office/Faculty Coordinator, if required):
- Confirmation of the traineeship period (official document with internship dates).
- Traineeship Certificate – confirmation from the host institution that the internship was completed (Learning Agreement for Traineeships – After the Mobility section).
- EU Survey – complete the online questionnaire.
