Short description:
As a peripheral region far from the country's major urban centers and economic hubs, Roztocze is characterized by a number of unique socio-economic features. Roztocze's economy is mainly based on agriculture (small family farms), forestry (due to its large forest areas, which are an important natural and economic resource for the region) and (eco)tourism (thanks to its unique nature, clean environment and numerous tourist routes). At the same time, Roztocze faces a number of challenges affecting most peripheral regions, including underinvestment in infrastructure and progressive depopulation processes. The proposed tour aims to explore the socio-economic diversity of Roztocze. Participants will have the opportunity to look at both the challenges associated with the region's peripherality and its potentials, fostering development based on environmental protection, organic farming and tourism development.
