To use the eduroam network, you need a computer/mobile device with a wireless network card that supports one of the following standards: 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g or 802.11n and an operating system that supports the 802.1x standard supporting WPA2 authentication and AES encryption.
The following description is an exemplary instruction for configuring a connection to the eduroam network for devices with Android 2.x and 4.x installed.
1. Select the Settings option on the device. In the Settings menu, select Wi-Fi or Wireless & Networks. Then turn on Wi-Fi (wireless network), and then from the list of available wireless networks – select eduroam by clicking it.
2. Choose PEAP as the EAP method.
3. In the authentication in the second phase (Phase 2 authentication), choose MSCHAPV2.
4. In the Identity field, enter the username, and in the Password field, enter the password obtained in the Eduroam UMCS system, and then click Connect.
NOTE!!!
Enter the username and password in accordance with the data from the Eduroam Employees login system in the login@eduroam.umcs.pl (login in accordance with the logging system) format
Students in the format xxxxxx@umcs.pl (xxxxxx is the album number placed in the student’s card)
Doctoral students in the format xxxxxx@umcs.pl (xxxxxx is the doctoral student’s card)
5. Configuration completed, if the login and password are entered correctly, Android should connect to the eduroam network.
To configure access to the eduroam network on your computer:
1. Click on the Wi-Fi icon (located in the tray in the lower right corner.
2. Check if the list of available wireless networks includes a network called eduroam.
3. Then click on “Network settings”.
4. Choose a network called eduroam.
5. Then click connect (the “Connect automatically” option should be checked).
6. In the next step, enter the username and password authorising you to use the eduroam network, and then select OK.

7. Then, accept the server's certificate by clicking the Connect button.
8. If all the steps have been performed correctly, from now on you should have a working connection to the eduroam network.
