Akademickie Centrum Kultury i Sztuki „Od Nowa” UMK, as the continuation of a 60-year-old tradition of the legendary student club “Od Nowa”, is one of the oldest and largest academic culture centers in Poland.
Currently ACKiS “Od Nowa” carries out lively cultural activities, such that no other university center in the country can admit to, and its significance runs way beyond the academic world.
ACKiS “Od Nowa” organizes festivals, concerts, film projections, theater productions, exhibitions, meetings as well as science conferences and other university events and ceremonies. In sum, more than 300 various cultural and university events are realized here.
Some of the most important events organized by ACKiS “Od Nowa” are: Jazz Od Nowa Festival, Afryka Reggae Festiwal, Majowy BUUM Poetycki, Alternatywne Spotkania Teatralne KLAMRA, Toruń Blues Meeting, Koncert Specjalny Pamięci Grzegorza Ciechowskiego.
