PREFEROWANE OBSZARY BADAWCZE ROZPRAW DOKTORSKICH

Specjalizuję się we współczesnych stosunkach międzynarodowych. Zainteresowania badawcze są szerokie. W szczególności preferuję:

1.  teorie stosunków międzynarodowych;
2. bezpieczeństwo międzynarodowe, jego wymiary niewojskowe, kulturę strategiczną państw, nową jakość konfliktów zbrojnych;
3. międzynarodowa politykę ekologiczną i negocjacje w sprawie zmian klimatu;
4. ład międzynarodowy i instytucje międzynarodowe, w tym teorię reżimów międzynarodowych;
5. procesy globalizacji;
6. stosunki międzynarodowe w Europie Środkowo-Wschodniej;
7. zmiany w stosunkach międzynarodowych i koncepcja późnowestfalskiego ładu międzynarodowego.

PROFIL PRACOWNIKA 

Jestem politologiem specjalizującym się w stosunkach międzynarodowych, absolwentem Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego. Na tej uczelni uzyskałem stopień doktora i doktora habilitowanego w zakresie nauk politycznych i stosunków międzynarodowych. Posiadam tytuł profesora.

Mój dorobek naukowy obejmuje ponad 230 publikacji, książek, monografii redagowanych, artykułów w czasopismach również w języku angielskim. Mam doświadczenie w realizacji 9 ogólnopolskich i międzynarodowych projektów badawczych. Byłem stypendystą wielu fundacji, prowadząc badania na uniwersytetach w Stanach Zjednoczonych, Wielkiej Brytanii, Niemczech, Włoszech (Uniwersytet Europejski we Florencji) i na Węgrzech (Uniwersytet Europy Środkowej). Zrealizowałem kilkanaście krótkoterminowych pobytów studyjnych w London School of Economics and Political Science. Wygłosiłem referaty na kongresach IPSA, EISA, BISA i innych. Od 2011 roku jestem wiceprezesem Polskiego Towarzystwa Studiów Międzynarodowych. Jestem promotorem 38 prac doktorskich także w j. angielskim. Część z nich została nagrodzona w konkursach, a 15 doktorantów otrzymało stypendia na badania. Mam doświadczenie w recenzowaniu ponad 40 prac doktorskich i 38 postępowań habilitacyjnych. Byłem ekspertem wielu instytucji. W latach 2010-2013 byłem mianowany przez Prezydenta RP członkiem Komisji Strategicznego Przeglądu Bezpieczeństwa Narodowego, który przygotował pierwszą w historii Białą Księgę Bezpieczeństwa Narodowego Polski. W listopadzie 2021 zostałem uhonorowany przez Narodową Akademię Nauk Ukrainy i Związek Naukowców Ukrainy tytułem „Najlepszego Naukowca Zagranicznego 2021 w Ukrainie”.

Jako promotor prac doktorskich przywiązuję dużą wagę do ich poziomu merytorycznego, teoretycznego i metodologicznego oraz poprawności językowej. Ważnym priorytetem moich działań jest kształtowanie kultury badawczej doktorantów obejmującej:

a) kompetencje teoretyczne i metodologiczne;
b) pozyskiwanie środków zewnętrznych na badania;
c) prezentowanie wyników badań poprzez publikacje i udział w konferencjach;
d) umiędzynarodowienie działalności badawczej.

PREFERRED RESEARCH AREAS OF DOCTORAL DISSERTATIONS 

I specialize in contemporary international relations. Research interests are wide and this may be the scope of the subject of doctoral dissertations. In particular I prefer:

1. theories of international relations;
2. international security, its non-military dimensions, strategic culture of states, new quality of conflicts;
3. international ecological policy  and climate change negotiations;
4. international order and international institutions including theory of international regimes;
5. globalization processes;
6. international relations in Central and Eastern Europe;
7. change in international relations and the concept of the late- Westphalian international order.

ACADEMIC PROFILE 

I am a political scientist specializing in international relations, a graduate of the University of Warsaw. At this university, I obtained in political science and international relations the doctoral and postdoctoral degrees. I am a titular professor.

My scientific achievements include over 230 publications, books, edited monographs, articles in journals also in English. I have experience in the implementation of  9 all-Polish and international research projects. I was a scholarship holder of numerous foundations, conducting research at universities in the United States, Great Britain, Germany, Italy (European University in Florence) and Hungary (University of Central Europe) and several short-term study trips at London School of Economics and Political Science. I gave papers at IPSA, EISA, BISA and other congresses. Since 2011, I have been the vice-president of the Polish Society for International Studies. I am a supervisor of 38 doctoral dissertations including in English. Some of them were awarded prizes in competitions, and 15 PhD students won grants for their research. I have experience in reviewing over 40 doctoral theses and 38 procedures for the habilitation degree. I was an expert of many institutions. In the years 2010-2013 I was  nominated by the President of the Republic of Poland a member of the Strategic Review of National Security Committee, which prepared the first in the history  the White Book of Poland's National Security, Warsaw 2013. I am co-author of this book. In November 2021 I was honored by the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Union of Scientists of Ukraine with the title of "Best Foreign Scientist 2021 in Ukraine"

As a superviser of doctoral dissertations, I attach great importance to their substantive, theoretical and methodological level as well as the correctness of the language. An important priority of my activities is to shape the research culture of doctoral students, including:

a) theoretical and methodological competences;
b) ability to obtain external funds for research;
c) presenting research results through publications and participation in conferences;
d) internationalization of research activity.
