HUMBOLDT-KOLLEG: LANDSCAPE ARCHAEOLOGY
Landschaft und Besiedlung.
Archäologische Studien zur vorrömischen Eisenzeit- und älteren Kaiserzeit im Mittel- und Südost Europa
Lublin, 06.-07.04.2017
PLACE OF THE CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS: Faculty Board Lecture Hall in the New Humanities building of the Humanities Faculty of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University.
GETTING HERE: The best way to travel to Lublin is to fly to Warsaw (Chopin Airport or Modlin Airport) and take a train down. The train trip takes about 2h 20min and the trains depart every hour or so from the Warsaw Central Station (Warszawa Centralna) (see the pdf below with connections; see also the other pdf, with Lublin – Warsaw connections for April 8, 2017). A 1st-class fare is about 60 PLN (ca. 14 EUR), a 2nd-class fare is about 40 PLN (ca. 9 EUR). From the Lublin railway station, it’s best to take a taxi to the hotel, for about 30 PLN (7 EUR). NOTE: Be sure to get a certified service, recognisable by big numbers on the sides and the top bar, e.g. 919; 81 4444444; 81 5322222; etc.). It is not recommended to use the private taxi service with only a small Taxi sign on the bar and the mobile/cell number: the fare may exceed your expectations.
ACCOMMODATION: All conference delegates will be accommodated at the Campanile Lublin Hotel (14 Lubomelska Street; http://www.campanile.com/pl/hotels/campanile-lublin). The cost of accommodation has been taken care of. The easiest way to get from the Campanile to the venue (UMCS, Plac M. Curie-Skłodowskiej 4a, Wydział Humanistyczny, Sala Obrad Rady Wydziału//Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, M. Curie-Skłodowska Sq. 4a, Faculty of Humanities, Faculty Board Lecture Hall) is to walk (see the picture or attachment no 1), which will take a quarter of an hour. A taxi service from the hotel is also available. The railway station, the hotel, and the conference venue are marked on the picture and attachment no 2.
