The Summer School for PhD Students entitled ‘Modern Research Techniques for Physicochemical Characterization of the Potential Application Systems’ will be held in Lublin on May 18-20, 2022, at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University.
The Summer School is a part of the International PhD Studies in Chemistry (IPhDSCh) project implemented by the Faculty of Chemistry of MCSU in Lublin from 01/06/2018 to 30/09/2022 within the framework of the Operational Program Knowledge Education Development in a period of 2014-2020, PRIORITY AXIS III HIGHER EDUCATION FOR ECONOMY AND DEVELOPMENT, Action 3.2 PhD studies, co-financed from the European Union funds within the European Social Funds.
The aim of the Summer School is to develop the knowledge acquired in the course subjects. During the Summer School, PhD students will be provided with an opportunity to participate in interdisciplinary lectures delivered by outstanding lecturers, workshops, discussions as well as to present their research results and achievements in the form of oral and poster presentations. English will be the obligatory language.
Among the invited lecturers of the Summer School are scientists and experienced academic teachers:
Prof. Carlos Bravo-Díaz, Dr. Agnieszka Brzyska, Prof. Małgorzata Maciejewska and Prof. Radosław Zaleski.
The lectures will cover modern research techniques, such as: nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), coupling technique of infrared spectroscopy with thermogravimetry (TG-IR), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), molecular modelling, positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy (PALS), and their use for investigations of the systems with a great application potential.
The workshops will be closely related to the topic of the lectures. The PhD students divided into small groups will have the opportunity to participate in all planned workshops. The meeting of PhD students from different countries and academic centers will ensure the exchange of experiences and good practices in the field of science and research which is the foundation for building international cooperation fostering the implementation of global programs and projects.
