Professor Aleksandra Szcześ

Director of the Doctoral School of Quantitative and Natural Sciences

Dr. habil. Aleksandra Szcześ has experience in chemical sciences, and her scientific interests concern interfacial phenomena and materials science. She researches the magnetic field in water treatment processes and the preparation of nano and biomaterials with potential applications as drug carriers and adsorbents. He has experience in implementing and managing research projects. She started her scientific career with the Faculty of Chemistry at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, where she obtained doctoral and postdoctoral degrees in chemical sciences. She also completed postgraduate studies in cosmetology and beauty care, PR in scientific research, and research project management. She is the author and co-author of publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and conference presentations. Since 2005, she has been working at the Department of Interfacial Phenomena of the Faculty of Chemistry, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin.

Professor Wojciech Grudziński

Vice Director of the Doctoral School of Quantitative and Natural Sciences

Dr. habil. Wojciech Grudziński is a biophysicist and professor at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin, specializing in molecular spectroscopy and the role of carotenoids in biological membranes. His research focuses on the protective functions of these molecules, particularly in the context of eye health and degenerative diseases such as age-related macular degeneration (AMD). His scientific achievements include numerous publications based on the fluorescence and Raman spectroscopy in the analysis of biological structures. As a member of the Polish Biophysical Society, he also serves as the society's secretary of the Lublin Branch . Beyond his academic work, he has a passion for photography and sports, actively playing volleyball while also enjoying cycling and swimming.
