Richard Shusterman is an American philosopher, professor at Florida Atlantic University, and author of numerous works, of which Pragmatic Aesthetics (1998, 2015), Practice of Philosophy, Philosophy of Practice (2005), Body Consciousness (2008), and Body Thinking (2016) have been published in Polish.
Richard Shusterman is the founder and leading representative of somaesthetics, whose premise is the belief that the main tool of our sensibility, sensuality, emotionality, volition and cognition is the soma, or mind-body unity, which organises our entire world and every experience.
