In the years 2005-2012 she was the deputy director for science at the Institute of Polish Philology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, and in the years 2012-2016, she was the dean of the Faculty of Polish and Classical Philology at Adam Mickiewicz University. In the years 2016-2020 she served as vice-rector for student affairs at Adam Mickiewicz University, and since September 1, 2020 she has been the rector of that university. In the years 2020-2024 she served as the chairwoman of the Conference of Rectors of Polish Universities, and in 2024 she was elected chairwoman of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland.
She is the author or co-author of nearly 100 scientific works – books and articles. In her academic work, she mainly deals with 20th–century literature and literary criticism. She is also a translator of English-language prose, with particular emphasis on children's prose, which is her great passion. In 1995, she obtained a doctoral degree, in 2001 - a postdoctoral degree, and in 2015 - the title of professor of humanities.
