“What about the future of student culture?” a working seminar took place on the 18th of October 2019 in the Academic Culture Center UMCS Chatka Żaka. The goal of the seminar was to present preliminary foundations and goals of the Forum.
During the meeting Izabela Pastuszko – acting director of ACK UMCS Chatka Żaka and representative of the Student Culture Forum Rector, initiator of the project and debate – gave a speech on the premise of the Forum. The presentation was superseded by a guest appearance of the Director of the Department of State Mecenate of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Mateusz Adamkowski and the Director of National Culture Center professor Rafał Wiśniewski who visited His Magnificence prof. dr hab. Stanisław Michałowski, UMCS Rector. We also had a pleasure to show our guests how ACK UMCS Chatka Żaka operates.
The meeting was attended by: representatives of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, university authorities, representatives of student culture community, of local government and Beata Stepaniuk-Kuśmierzak, vice-president of Lublin’s Culture, Sport and Participation committee, dr Jarosław Cymerman, vice director of the Theater Institute, Rafał Koziński, vice director of Art-Program Culture Center in Lublin, a student delegation as well as other representatives of Lublin’s culture and science who are related to the fields of student culture. One of many goals of this initiative is to diagnose the involvement of students in culture.
