Representatives from academic culture centers from all around Poland arrived at Chatka Żaka to participate in the Student Culture Forum project!
On the 17th and the 18th of June a Research Seminar took place in the Academic Culture and Media Center UMCS Chatka Żaka as a part of Student Culture Forum.
Student Culture Forum is a project that brings together academic culture centers from all around Poland. Its main goal is to thoroughly analyze student culture in the country and to develop systemic solutions for its further development.
The project is carried out through, among others, determining students’ needs and the conditions essential for development of their creative activity and developing guidelines for countrywide programs supporting student culture and academic culture centers. The initiator of the project is Izabela Pastuszko, director of the ACKiM UMCS Chatka Żaka, representative of the Dean for the Student Culture Forum.
- Student Culture is a space where young people can discover themselves and their passions. That is why it is so important to create appropriate conditions for them in which they will be able to grow and make mistakes. Through the Student Culture Forum we aim to show anew how significant students’ influence on the cultural life of the whole country is. - says Izabela Pastuszko, director of the ACKiM UMCS Chatka Żaka, representative of the Dean for the Student Culture Forum.
Towards the end of last week representatives of nine entities from all around Poland came together to meet in person for the first time at ACKiM UMCS Chatka Żaka to share their experiences, present previous endeavors and take part in joint training.
- We are very happy that academic culture centers from all around Poland answered in such large numbers to our invitation. It was a real pleasure to meet people who (just like us) live and breathe student culture everyday. These two days packed with talks, presentations and workshops were extraordinarily inspiring for all of us and we hope that this positive energy that we developed together will translate into further joint endeavours. - adds project’s coordinator Ilona Woźniak-Kostecka.
The key part of our project will be, planned for the autumn of 2021, Poland Student Culture Forum organized in ACKiM UMCS Chatka Żaka during which we will present a detailed analysis of student culture in the 21st century. Ultimately, it is going to be a recurring event that will monitor, up to date, how student culture in Poland is evolving.
