The UMCS University Art Gallery of the Maria Curie-Sklodowska University of Lublin, located in the new building of the western campus (ul. Głęboka 43), has begun its activity. The first exhibition 'The Mini Print Cantabria Collection in Lublin' had an opening on 20 October 2022. There is show of collection of art prints of the Santander Port Authority Art Fund run by the Faro Cabo Mayor Art Center in the city of Santander, Spain, which currently includes more than 1,500 works by artists from around the world. In Lublin, 456 selected prints by artists from 56 countries are presented. The exhibition is curated by Andrea Juan and Gabriel Penedo Diego, directors of the SM Pro Art Circle foundation run in Santander , who have been organising the international annual art print competition 'International Mini Print Cantabria' since 2018. The competition has a website that publishes online all the works that have qualified in previous editions, as well as exhibition catalogues.
The opening of the exhibition at UMCS University Art Gallery (ul. Głęboka 43) during the vernissage on 20 October 2022 at 5 p.m. was conducted by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Dr hab. Alicja Snoch-Pawłowska, Prof. UMCS. The ceremony was honoured with the presence of: JM Rector Prof. Dr. Radosław Dobrowolski, Vice-Rector for Students and Quality of Education Prof. Dr. hab. Dorota Kołodyńska and Dean of the Faculty of Education and Psychology Dr hab. Andrzej Różański, Prof. UMCS. It was with great warmth that we welcomed a distinguished guest, the former Rector of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, Prof. Dr hab. Stanisław Michałowski, who, during his presidency, took steps to establish the UMCS University Art Gallery. The opening was honoured with a musical concert: Alicja Bator - vocal, Tomasz Momot - piano. The exhibition is part of the anniversary of 50 years of art education at the Marie Curie-Skłodowska University and is held under the honorary patronage of His Magnificence Rector of the Marie Curie-Skłodowska University, Prof. Dr hab. Radosław Dobrowolski.
The exhibition can be visited from 20 October to 20 November 2022 on Tuesday-Friday between 12 and 3 pm.
