This exhibition is a preview of what will happen soon ... For several years, the Department of Sculpture and Ceramics of the Faculty of Arts of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University organizes the Ceramic Festival. This year's edition was planned for June 18-20. Unfortunately, due to the prevailing situation in the world, it must be postponed to the nearest possible, although indefinite date.
The exhibition presented in the CSK hospitable interiors is therefore a Prologue, i.e. a review of the works of the hosts of the future festival, lecturers of the Faculty of Arts of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University: dr hab. Alicja Kupiec, dr hab. Zbigniew Stanuch, MA Radosław Skóra and MA Oliwia Beszczyńska.
Each artist works differently, selects different materials, draws from different sources of inspiration.
They are connected by discipline, fascination with material and struggle with, often complicated, technological processes.
"Prologue" will be a kind of warm-up before what will develop during the Ceramics Festival.
Exhibition opening: 19.06.2020, at 17:00
Visiting the exhibition: from Tuesday to Sunday from 12.00 - 18.00
The end of the exhibition: 10.07.2020, at 18.00
An integral part of the exhibition is the video broadcast documenting the practical research project of Arely Amaut and Sigrid Espelien - the Collective Thinking Machine. The project analyzes how and what we can learn by sharing methods and experiences from various fields involving seemingly opposite but complementary technologies, for example: modern and ancient practices, digital technology and clay or hacking and manufacturing.
