The Archives and Museum of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University are pleased to invite you to the opening of the exhibition dedicated to the patron of our University entitled "Maria Skłodowska-Curie and her family".
The event will take place on 23rd of October at 9.00 in the hall of the UMCS Museum (building of the UMCS Main Library, Radziszewskiego 11). The opening will be held by the Rector of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University prof. Stanisław Michałowski in the presence of prof. Pierre Joliot - a well-known biochemist and grandson of the Nobel laureate, who will be awarded an honorary doctorate degree from UMCS on October 24th.
The exhibition is based mainly on photographs available thanks to the Musée Curie in Paris and the Maria Skłodowska-Curie Museum in Warsaw. Most of them are materials presented in our Museum for the first time. The exhibition, unlike many previous ones, does not present the scientific achievements of multiple Nobel laureates, but focuses on her relationships and family relationships.
Everyone is welcome!
