International Research

Maria Curie-Skłodowska University cooperates with foreign universities, researchers, scientifics institutes and other types of entities including NGOs and cultural institution. Cooperation is mostly based on bilateral contacts between academic staff, sometimes formalized by agreements or through participation in project consortia. International cooperation at UMCS is implemented by several administrative Centers:

• International Student Office

Research, along with education, constitutes the most important sphere of university activity. UMCS conducts research in over 25 scientific disciplines among 13 Faculties:

​Our ambition is to meet the requirement of the HR Excellence in Research award. This is a token of recognition by the European Commission shown to institutions that implement a strategy for improvement of working conditions and facilitation of career development of researchers (The Human Resources Strategy for Researchers – HRS4R) and follow the terms and guidelines contained in the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers).

UMCS is represented also in IROS Forum, an organization associating university bodies that manage international cooperation at Polish universities, and in the EUniverCities network of municipality and university tandems in 13 European cities.
