From 11th of December 2019 to 29th of January 2020 at the Michał Elwiro-Andriolli Gallery in Nałęczów, an exhibition entitled 01 Department of Digital Media Art was presented. Its co-organizers were the Faculty of Arts of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin and the Nałęczów Culture Center.
The exhibition was intended to recognize the scale of abilities of newly created Department of Digital Art Media in October 2019. From this review, a transdisciplinary picture of the potentiality of this Department emerged, in which the competences of digital photography, film, computer animation and digital image editing, graphics and CGI animation, virtual art and augmented reality intertwine. Such a wide range of disciplines integrated on the digital media platform is possible to achieve thanks to the selection of the staff of the newly established Department.
The head of the department is prof. dr hab. Grzegorz Dobiesław Mazurek, and consists of: prof. dr hab. Irena Nawrot-Trzcińska, dr hab. Joanna Polak, prof. Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, dr hab. Marek Letkiewicz, prof. UMCS, dr Jarosław Janowski, dr Danuta Kucia, dr Marcin Maron, dr Sławomir Plewko, mgr Michał Mikulski and mgr Jacek Wierzchoś.
Therefore, there are specialists whose professional competences and artistic achievements enable this team to take a course on the goal of creating a strong foundation for our students to step in the Digital Age in the contemporary art universe.
