Politician and local government official. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Szczecin University of Technology. He completed postgraduate studies in the field of organization and management of the tourism economy and administrative and local government law.
From 1998 to 2001, he was vice-president of Szczecin. He also served as a councilor of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship Assembly of the 2nd, 4th, and 5th terms.
He is a former president of the board of Energetyka Szczecińska, a former member of the board of the Enea joint-stock company, and a former director of the Enea Operator branch.
In the 9th term of the Sejm, he was a member of the Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation Committee and the Energy, Climate and State Assets Committee.
He is currently the vice-chairman of the New Left. On December 13, 2023, he was appointed Minister of Science.
