INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE "ANIMAL WELFARE. A LEGAL PERSPECTIVE" LUBLIN – IVANO-FRANKIVSK, OCTOBER 26TH, 2023.
The Department of Administrative Law and Administrative Sciences of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, Poland invites you to participate in the Third International Scientific Conference in the series "Legal Protection of Animals" to be held on October 26th, 2023. The Conference is organised in cooperation with the Department of Labour, Ecological and Agrarian Law of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine and the Foundation for Academic Initiatives in Lublin, Poland. The main topic of this year's Conference will be "Animal Welfare. A Legal Perspective" The Conference is planned to be held in a hybrid system (both on-line and in-person). The core objective of the organisers is to establish a platform for exchanging views among various communities. Therefore, both scholars and those who deal with animal protection in practice are invited. Like during past years, we expect to host legislators, legal practitioners, people holding prosecuting functions, employees of state auditing bodies, staff of agricultural consultancy entities, agricultural self-government representatives, entrepreneurs and members of NGOs whose statutory aim is animal protection.
Subject-matter:
The improvement in living conditions of animals (irrespective of their intended purpose) is considerably determined by the applicable legislation. Bearing this in mind, we encourage you to participate in a debate on the normative basis for the protection of animal welfare and institutional and non-institutional guarantees for its implementation. These are definitely complex issues that require different views to be confronted, while drawing on the achievements of various scientific disciplines. However, the primary objective of the organisers is to present animal welfare from a legal perspective.
