The UMCS Foreign Languages Teaching and Certification Centre (CNiCJO UMCS) is an inter-faculty language teaching unit with a long-standing tradition. For over 70 years its teachers have been conducting classes in seven foreign languages for students and doctoral students of the University: English, German, Russian, French, Spanish, Italian and Latin.
Language courses are conducted according to syllabuses and original programs - including specialist language in a given field of study. Additional elective courses, translation classes and general university lectures are also organized for interested students.
In addition to strictly teaching activities, CNiCJO UMCS as an Authorized Licensed Examination Center © telc gGmbH, ETS Global, PEARSON and Global Legal English offers, since 2001, the opportunity to obtain international language certificates increasingly sought after on the science and labor market and recognized by numerous institutions and employers at home and abroad. Certification examinations at various levels of proficiency covering both general and specialist language (including legal language and business language) implement international language policy standards and enjoy an ever-growing popularity among UMCS students and personnel as well as among non-University attendees.
In order to meet the needs and expectations of the ever-growing number of participants, CNiCJO UMCS has also included in its offer university courses of general and specialist language at all levels, preparing attendees for obtaining, inter alia, universally recognized language certificates.
