Personal information

In June 2004 I completed my degree course at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin and defended my Master’s thesis entitled “Effect of some electrolytes on electrophoretic separation of proteins of the albumin family” with a very good grade (thesis supervisor: Dr hab. Barbara Marczewska).

In October 2004 I began a doctoral degree program at the UMCS Faculty of Chemistry. I conducted research for my doctoral thesis entitled “Lead and gallium film electrodes as new electrodes in stripping analysis” under the direction of Prof. Dr hab. Mieczysław Korolczuk. On December 18, 2006 I was awarded a PhD degree and in February 2007 I began work as an Assistant Professor (adiunkt) at the Department of Analytical Chemistry and Instrumental Analysis, Faculty of Chemistry, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin.

On January 28, 2013 I was awarded the degree of habilitated doctor (a higher doctorate degree)based on a monothematic cycle of publications entitled “Application of a lead film electrode in trace analysis of biologically active compounds and metal ions using stripping voltammetry”. I have been employed as a UMCS Associate Professor since October 1, 2015 until now.

As part of my mentoring activities, I have provided scientific supervision of doctoral, Master’s, and Bachelor’s theses. I was/am:

  • The supervisor of the defended doctoral thesis “New applications of screen-printed electrodes in trace analysis of metal ions in water samples” written by Katarzyna Jędruchniewicz (Domańska) at the UMCS Faculty of Chemistry;
  • The supervisor of the ongoing doctoral thesis “Trace analysis of painkiller ingredients in water samples using screen-printed electrodes” written by Agnieszka Sasal (Szwagierek) at the UMCS Faculty of Chemistry;
  • The supervisor of the ongoing doctoral thesis of Jędrzej Kozak (The Doctoral School of Exact and Natural Sciences);
  • The supervisor of 15 Bachelor’s theses and 14 Master’s theses defended at the UMCS Faculty of Chemistry since 2008;
  • A member of the Doctoral Degree Committees in 11 doctoral degree processes conducted at the UMCS Faculty of Chemistry;
  • The Secretary of the Habilitation Committee (2018);
  • A reviewer of 3 doctoral theses and 18 Bachelor’s and Master’s theses defended at the UMCS Faculty of Chemistry since 2013;
  • A tutor of first year Master’s degree students, degree course – Chemistry, degree specialization – Chemical Analytics, in the academic years 2010/2011 and 2011/2012.

I performed/perform the following roles:

  • A member of the Expert Team of the National Science Center;
  • A member of the Institute of Chemical Sciences (from 10.2019);
  • A member of the Committee for Strategy and Development of the Institute of Chemical Sciences (from 10.2019);
  • A member of the Council of the Faculty of Chemistry UMCS (2013 - 09.2019),
  • A member of theUniversity Quality Team (2012/2013);
