Within its series "The World in the eyes of Polish media 2016" Political Science Faculty will host Paweł Witold Reszka, Polish renowned international reporter of "Tygodnik Powszechny". Mr. Reszka will talk on his work as a reporter in Russia and Ukraine as well as share his thoughts on the condition of investigative journalism in Poland. Paweł Witold Reszka was a correspondent of Polish daily "Rzeczpospolita" in Moscow in 2003–2006. Between 2006 and 2009 he was a head of investigative division in "Dziennik" daily. Since 2013 has written for weekly "Tygodnik Powszechny". Awarded by the "Press" Monthly with the Dariusz Fikus Award for his reporting and investigative texts in 2005 and with the "MediaTory Award"( with Michał Majewski) in 2008 . He received the Andrzej Woyciechowski Award In 2010 for the series of articles on the crash of Polish presidential plain in Smolensk, Russia. He is an author of several books: Miejsce po imperium (2007); Daleko od Wawelu (co-authored with Michał Majewski in 2010) and Daleko od miłości ( 2011). His recent book Chciwość. Jak oszukują wielkie firmy was published in 2016.
” The World in the eyes of Polish media" is a series of meetings with Polish journalists and commentators specializing in international and global issues organized by Political Science Faculty. All events in the series are open to the public.
