Prof. Zbigniew Pastuszak - UMCS Vice-Rector for Development and Cooperation with the Economy

Full professor, habilitated doctor of economics, head of the Department of Information Systems and Logistics at UMCS, and Vice-Rector for Development and Business Cooperation  at UMCS. Dean of the Faculty of Economics (2012–2019) and Director of the Institute of Management (2009–2012, 2019–2020).

Member of the Council of the Polish Economic Institute and the University Finance Commission of the Conference of Rectors of Polish Universities and chairman of the Economics and Management Commission of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Lublin Branch. He chaired the work of the Council for Innovative Social and Economic Development at the President of Lublin and was a co-creator of the Lublin Development Strategy 2030 and the Development Strategy of the Lublin Voivodeship.

Chairman of the Program Council of MakeLearn and TIIM Technology Innovation and Industrial Management Joint International Conference, among others, in Thailand, Finland, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Malta and Poland. Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the journal "Expert Systems with Applications" and Editor-in-Chief of the "International Journal of Value Chain Management".

He holds the title of Computer Educator of the Year (IACIS, 2008, Atlanta, USA) and the 2012 Emerald Outstanding Paper Award (Great Britain).

He specializes in economic informatics, logistics, and management. He has published over 250 scientific papers in Poland and abroad. He has sat on the supervisory boards of various companies and the Lublin Science and Technology Park S.A. He also managed PGE Dystrybucja S.A. and is currently a member of the Supervisory Board of the company. He actively participates in social campaigns related to the promotion and development of Polish transplantology. In the academic year 2024/2025, he celebrates the 30th anniversary of his professional work in higher education.
