Prof. Radosław Dobrowolski - Rector of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin

He has spent his entire scientific career at UMCS, first as a student (1983–1988), then as a research and technical employee at the Institute of Earth Sciences (1987–1988), a Research and Teaching Assistant (1988–1997), an Assistant Professor (1997–2011), an Associate Professor (2011–2018), and most recently as a Full Professor (since 2018). He has served as Deputy Director for Student Affairs (2008–2011), Director of the Institute of Earth Sciences (2011), first Dean of the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Spatial Management (2011–2016),  and Vice-Rector for Science and International cooperation (2016–2020). Since September 2020, he has been the Rector of UMCS. For several years, he has also been the Head of the Department of Geomorphology and Paleogeography at the Institute of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University.

Author of over 230 scientific articles (including 45 indexed in the Scopus database, cited over 800 times; H-index = 14), two books, 35 chapters in monographs and over 100 publications and conference reports.

Member of: Steering Committee of Karst Commission International Geographical Union, Committee of Geographical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Committee of Quaternary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Polish Geographical Society, Polish Geological Society, Association of Polish Geomorphologists, Polish Copernicus Society of Naturalists, and Polish National Committee of the International Peat Association.

He received: the Medal of the National Education Commission, the Medal of the President of Lublin, the Silver, and Gold Cross of Merit, the Gold Medal "For Merit to Polish Science Sapientia et Veritas", the Medal of the 550th Anniversary of the Lublin Voivodeship, the Gold Badge of the Polish Geographical Society, among others.
