"Open space, closed space" was the title of the exhibition and conference at the 24th Eastern Art Salon 2019. The exhibition presents the work of several artists from various fields of art. Both the conference and the exhibition were devoted to creativity, which, despite its limited formal sphere, exceeds the frames of traditional art and forces the recipient to complete the work in the mental sphere.
The event took place on 28th of November 2019 at the Faculty of Arts of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University and the Temporary Exhibitions Gallery at the Center for the Meeting of Cultures.
During the conference, the participants' intention was also to debate the role of art, artist and cultural institution as a place where the recipient, when confronting with their own emotions and reflections, does not always expect hints or interpretative tips from the so-called second hand. With the right to refer to his own experience and personal sensitivity, he may feel like a partner in discovering the meanings of contemporary art, and not just a passive recipient or subject of the influence of curators and critics who often play the role of mentors.
