Jordan University College in Morogoro (Tanzania), a partner university of UMCS, joined the celebrations of World Philosophy Day. The theme was philosophy and the future, with speculations about how philosophy might shape the Africa of tomorrow. The seminar was organized by Dr George Ndemo from the Department of Philosophy. One of the speakers was Dr. Konrad Czernichowski, who presented a paper entitled "How Can Economics Be Taught in Tanzania", in which he touched upon the problem of the language of instruction, cultural context and models that are often incompatible with local realities. The papers presented will be published in a special issue of the university's scientific journal "Africa Tomorrow".
