A specialist library in the Centre of Eastern Europe of Maria Curie-Sklodowska University is being created. It gathers mainly the works of scientific literature of Eastern and Central Europe. It contains tomes dealing with humanities and social science, especially history, philology, philosophy, pedagogy and psychology, sociology, economics, law, political science and international relations. The scientific library is enriched by the belles lettres collection.
The library store creation is particularly oriented towards relations between Poland and its eastern neighbours.
The library of the Centre of Eastern Europe was established as a result of the over ten years existence of the European College of Polish and Ukrainian Universities. Since 2001 the college has been receiving the works of scientific literature as a donation from Polish and foreign donors.
