Kosciuszko Foundation

As a recipient of a research grant from the Kosciuszko Foundation, Dr. Izabella Kimak spent the fall semester of 2021 (August-December) at Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, researching her project “Literary Landscapes of Polish America.” Dr. Kimak was invited to Northwestern by Stuart Dybek, one of the most acknowledged American writers of Polish descent. During her stay, Dr. Kimak narrowed down her focus to explore specifically what she calls Polish Chicagoan literature, that is literary accounts of Chicago as the capital city and home of the American Polonia.
