Karolina Jaros-Tsoj - PhD student at the Doctoral School of Quantitative and Natural Sciences

Graduate of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology at Maria Curie-Sklodowska University in Lublin (Master's degree in Biotechnology, 2021). She is currently a PhD student at the Doctoral School of Quantitative and Natural Sciences at the UMCS. Her research is conducted within the framework of international projects (Horizon 2020 and BOF-BILA – bilateral cooperation with Hasselt University in Belgium).

Her research interests focus on optimising the cultivation of energy crops in metal contaminated areas and assessing their potential for phytoremediation. She also investigates the physiological mechanisms of plant tolerance to metals. She has completed research internships at Hasselt University in Belgium and the University of Silesia in Katowice. She has participated in numerous national and international scientific conferences and training sessions for young scientists. An active member of the Polish Botanical Society, co-organiser of events promoting science. A lover of plants, good food and literature.
