„Annales UMCS”, sectio B (Geography, Geology, Mineralogy and Petrography) was established in 1946. It is a scholarly journal that publishes substantial academic papers in Polish and English. The Editorial Board is particularly interested in scientific papers in the field of geology, physical geography, socio-economic geography, tourism, land management, geoinformatics and related sciences. Annales UMCS sec. B is released on an open-access basis, its readership including both representatives of the scientific circles and economic practitioners.
The journal was founded in 1968 as a semi-annual magazine published in English by the 5th Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Forestry and Veterinary of Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. Editorial address was from the very beginning in the Department of Soil Science of the Maria Curie -Sklodowska University in Lublin. The magazine was assumed complementary with "Annals of Soil Science". (“Roczniki Gleboznawcze”), published in Polish, quarterly, by the Main Board of the Polish Society of Soil Science. The recipient of the journal were foreign soil science centers and academic libraries in several countries around the world, including units cooperating with Polish Academy of Sciences.
