Fernando Magalhães is teacher at Polytechnic Institute of Porto since 1987. He has been Vice-President of Polytechnic of Porto since May 2022, after holding various positions as a member of the presidential teams of the Polytechnic Institute or of the schools which form the IPP, since 1999.
He studied, Applied Mathematics (University of Porto, Portugal), as his first degree, Probability and Statistics (University of Lisbon, Portugal) a Master Degree, and a PhD in Statistics (University of Sheffield, UK). His work focuses on Bayesian Statistics.
