Submitting panels and papers – general guidelines
Registration to the open panels (participants with presentations and discussants) should be done on-line at: http://www.umcs.pl/en/registration-for-open-panel,14736.htm . Please see the list of proposed panels with abstracts within all 4 Themes of the Congress and register in one of them. One participant can register as participant with one paper only and also can register as discussant. Persons who submitted the panel and received positive decisions from the Program Committee can register as panel moderators. Registration for the closed panels is possible only for participants who were submitted by closed panel moderator to the Program Board.
1) Panels should be submitted within proposed 4 themes (see Congress/Theme).
2) “Open” and “closed” panels can be submitted.
3) Panels and papers can be submitted in languages other then Polish, with preference for English. Panels and papers can be submitted by participants who a not Polish citizens. The guidelines for papers and panel submission are the same for Polish and foreign participants.
4) Congress has “one participant one paper” principle. Submitting of the paper does not exclude moderating other panels or being a discussant on other panel.
5) Both “open” and “closed” panels consist of 1. Moderator (chairperson) 2. Panellist (suggested number 5-6 persons, minimum 3 different academic institutions should be represented) 3. Discussant. The Organizers would like the papers on the panel to be inspiration for the discussion so when organizing the panel the moderators should allocate appropriate time for discussion.
6) Moderators are responsible for the selection of panellists and discussant.
7) Submission of panels and papers requires the abstract. The abstract should contain a) title of the panel/paper, b) key words (3-5), c) goals and main themes of the panel/paper, d) when submitting the panel the research questions to which the moderator is planning to answer. Abstracts should not exceed 1500 characters with spaces, papers should not exceed 1000 characters with spaces.
8) The Organizers would like to include PhD students and students in the Congress. Students are encouraged to submit papers/panels as well as participate in panels. Moderators are encouraged to include students in proposed panels.
9) The Program Board of the Congress reserve the right to verify both the panels and papers included in submitted panels, which will be done in cooperation with moderators submitting the panel.
