Personal information

I graduated in Chemistry from the Faculty of Mat.-Phys.-Chem. M. Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, obtaining a Master's degree in chemistry with honors in 1981. While doing my master's thesis, on November 1, 1980, I started working on a technical position at the Department of Chemical Physics headed by prof. Zdzisław Syprynowicz. From July 1, 1981, I worked as an assistant, and from August 1, 1990 as an assistant professor at the same Department, which with time changed its management (Prof. Andrzej Dawidowicz, currently Dr.hab. Dorota Wianowska, Prof. UMCS) and name (Department of Chromatographic Methods, now Department of Chromatography). Since 2014 I have been working as an associate professor.

Scientific Activity

I defended my doctoral thesis, "Physicochemical and chromatographic properties of thermally and chemically modified porous glasses" in June 1990, and the academic degree of habilitated doctor in June 2009 based on the dissertation entitled "Analytical problems in the determination of antibiotic residues in milk by thin-layer chromatography". For many years I have been conducting research on food quality assessment, specializing in the chromatographic analysis of antibiotic residues in milk, mainly by thin-layer chromatography coupled with direct bioautography (TLC-DB). In recent years,I have been using TLC-DB to evaluate the biological activity of plant ingredients and pharmaceutical plant preparations
