After passing the secondary school final exams at Jan Zamoyski School in Zamość I enrolled for the studies of Chemistry at the Faculty of Mathematics-Physics-Chemistry at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University. I graduated in 1988 obtaining the title “Master of Chemistry”. My master thesis entitled “Effect of film pressure on minerals wettability” was supervised by Prof. dr hab. Bronisław Jańczuk.
On April, 1996 I presented my doctoral thesis entitled “Studies on solids surface free energy by the contact angle measurements” supervised by Prof. dr hab. Bronisław Jańczuk. Its reviewers were: Prof. dr hab. Kazimierz Małysa (PAN) and Prof. dr hab. Józef Stachurski (AGH).
On 27.06.2011 there was the oral presentation of my habilitation dissertation entitled “Surface properties of some surfactants and short chain alcohols mixtures as regards the solids wetting”.
I obtained the Professor title on 9 February 2017.
In the years 2003 and 2004 together with the Spanish scientist at the Extremadura University (Badajoz) I carried out the studies on surface and volumetric properties of biosurfactants.
I have been a head of Ph.D studies at the Faculty of Chemistry, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University science 1 April 2016.
Scientific Activity
Research Interests
My research is focused on interface phenomena: tension and interface free energy as well as their components and parameters resulting from various kinds of intermolecular interactions, wetting and properties of surfactants and biosurfactants as regards the wetting process and adhesion as well as co-operation of various kinds of surface active agents in the process of adsorption and solids wetting.
The most important Scientific Achievements
I am author and co-author of 125 original papers published, among others, in the specialist world-wide journals such as: Journal of Colloid and Interface Science;Colloids and Surfaces A and B; Applied Surface Science;Journal of Molecular Liquids;Materials, Chemistry and Physics as well as 200 conference reports.
