Personal information

In 2000, I have accomplished M. Sc. studies in Environmental Protection at Faculty of Chemistry, Technical University of Gdańsk. Then, I moved to the Institute of Organic Chemistryy Polish Academy of Sciences located in Warsaw where in 2005 I have completed a PhD thesis entitled "Borane as reducing and complexing agent in organophosphorus chemistry - the synthesis and reactivity of phosphinous acid-boranes". Since 2006, I have granted an Associate Professor position at the Department of Organic Chemistry Marie Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. In 2014, I have completed habilitation entitled "Birch reduction in organophosphorus chemistry". In 2016-2022, I was the Head of the Department of Organic Chemistry at Marie Curie-Skłodowska University.

Scientific Activity

RESEARCH INTERESTS:

Organic chemistry in general with special amphasis on synthetic methodology, reaction mechanisms, stereochemistry and the synthesis of chiral organic compounds in a non-racemic form. These topics are mainly associated with organophosphorus compounds, their applications in asymmetric catalysis and material chemistry. Recent research topisc were associated with fotocatalytic reactions, mainly photooxidation process, which is generally considered as a very non-selective and therefore can be considered as a challenge for organic chemists. Recently, research in hydrogen activation by small organic molecules has been started also.

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS:

44 publications, 10 book chapters, over 200 conference contributions, 3 research projects as principal investigator, 3 research projects as scientific supervisor.
