Beata Jarosz, PhD, is a linguist and her research interests revolve mostly around sociolinguistics, media studies, and academic editing. She is the author of three monographs (the latest one is about the professional language of Polish press journalists) and over 50 articles published in prestigious Polish and foreign periodicals (including "Slovo a Slovesnost", "Slavica", "Poradnik Językowy", "Język Polski", "Socjolingwistyka", "Zeszyty Prasoznawcze"). Moreover, she was the contractor in several projects financed from public funds, and the manager of two projects funded by the Polish National Science Center and the Polish Ministry of Education and Science (the programme "Excellent Science - Support for scientific monographs"). As a visiting professor, she gave a series of lectures at the Eotvos Lorand University in Budapest and Charles University in Prague (Czech Republic). She completed a 3-week research internship at CLARIN-PL in Wrocław (Poland; part of the European CLARIN ERIC network) and a week-long research stay at The Senate House Library at the University of London (Great Britain). B. Jarosz is a member of the Advisory Academic Board of the Annual Scientific Conference of the Association of Slavists (Polyslav) (2019, 2022), the Council of Reviewers of the journal "Linguistische Treffen in Wrocław" (2021), the Council of Young Scientists of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (since 2021), the editorial staff of two periodicals – "Acta Humana" (2009-2011) and "Rocznik Lubelski" (2013–2020). In addition to her scientific activity, she also does editorial work (cooperated with the Polish publishing houses: Episteme, Bellona, and UMCS; she edited several publications, both monographs and volumes of scientific journals).
