Prof. Radosław Dobrowolski Rector of UMCS statement and wishes for the Women's Day
On the occasion of Women's Day, I would like to wish all the ladies working at the Marie Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, as well as the students of our University, the best of health, peace and serenity, and every good fortune. May each day bring you, Ladies, reasons for joy and inspiration to pursue creative activities, both in the professional and private fields. 8 March is also a good occasion to remember the exceptional figure and also patroness of our Alma Mater. Maria Curie-Skłodowska is a woman who, thanks to her work, intelligence, passion for science and consistency, as well as her life wisdom and love for her family, overcame the limitations established by custom there by changing science and the world. She became an international symbol of a woman's success in a scientific world dominated by men, an icon of an independent woman who, despite adversities, found her own way to fulfil her dreams. Ladies, I wish you such self-confidence, passion, curiosity about the world, determination and perseverance in pursuing your goals and many successes in life. All the best!
