On Wednesday, 30th June this year, we hosted in our Alma Mater His Excellency, Ambassador of Japan in Poland, Mr Akio Miyajima, and Mrs Tae Sato-Takita, Second Secretary in the Economics Department of the Japanese Embassy. The guests were accompanied by Mrs Elżbieta Korona - translator and clerk from the Economics Department of the Japanese Embassy.
The guests met with representatives of the UMCS rector's authorities: Rector Professor dr hab. Radosław Dobrowolski and Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation Professor dr Hab. Wiesław Gruszecki to discuss the possibilities and scope of cooperation.
Prof. dr hab. Leszek Leszczyński - Director of the Institute of Legal Sciences, who conducted many years of research cooperation with Japanese institutions, and Dr Olga Pliszczyńska-Mokijewska - Director of the Center for International Cooperation, was present at the meeting too.
During the meeting, the Rector invited HE Ambassador to participate in the inauguration of the 2021/2022 academic year at UMCS, which was received with approval. Ambassador also expressed his willingness to present an open lecture for UMCS students in the future.
