We are pleased to announce that on March 11th, at the headquarters of "Dziennik Wschodni" in Lublin, a framework cooperation agreement was signed between Maria Curie-Skłodowska University andCorner Media sp. z o.o. based in Lublin.
The agreement concerns cooperation in the area of promoting scientific research, education, and the organizational activities of UMCS staff and students, with particular emphasis on co-organizing promotional activities regarding scientific research as well as meteorological and hydrological monitoring conducted by the Institute of Earth and Environmental Sciences at UMCS.
"We are very pleased to enter into a cooperation agreement with the Institute of Earth and Environmental Sciences. We have gained a partner with whom we want to create content related to climate change, weather forecasting, and more. The results of our cooperation will soon be visible on our website www.dziennikwschodni.pl and on social media," says Anna Sztal, President of Corner Media - the publisher of "Dziennik Wschodni".
Experts from the Institute of Earth and Environmental Sciences, based on their research and measurements at 12 meteorological stations in Lublin and the region (operating as part of environmental monitoring), will regularly prepare weather forecasts. These will be broadcast on the "Dziennik Wschodni" website and made available to a wide audience, including residents of Lublin and our region.
"I am very pleased that the Institute of Earth and Environmental Sciences at UMCS is strengthening its cooperation with the media, and the results of research and measurements conducted by our scientists at 12 meteorological stations (in Lublin and the region, for example in Rybczewice, Trzydnik, Łuków), which operate as part of environmental monitoring, will be made available to a wider audience.
It is extremely important that our experts will be able to share their research with the residents of the city and region. I think this will positively impact the greater recognition not only of our Institute but also of the entire University," adds Prof. Dr. Hab. Irena Pidek – Deputy Director of the Institute of Earth and Environmental Sciences at UMCS.
The framework cooperation agreement was signed by: Dr. Hab. Sławomir Terpiłowski, Prof. of UMCS – Director of the Institute of Earth and Environmental Sciences, and Anna Sztal – President of the Board of Corner Media Ltd.
The meeting at the headquarters of "Dziennik Wschodni" was attended by: Dr. Hab. Sławomir Terpiłowski, Prof. of UMCS – Director of the Institute of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Prof. Dr. Hab. Irena Pidek – Deputy Director of the mentioned Institute, Dr. Hab. Stanisław Chmiel, Prof. of UMCS – Head of the Department of Hydrology and Climatology, Justyna Jawiarczyk from the Institute of Earth and Environmental Sciences, and Aneta Adamska – Director of the Press Center, press spokesperson. "Dziennik Wschodni" was represented by: Anna Sztal – President of the Board and Krzysztof Kot – Director of Multimedia.
The real effects of the signed agreement will be visible soon, as the first weather forecast will be broadcast this coming Friday, March 15th, at 8:00 am on the "Dziennik Wschodni" website and on the editorial team's social media. (source of information; photo: B.Proll)
