Professor dr hab. Tadeusz Puszkar was born on 6th December 1940 in Rawa Ruska. He was a graduate of the Faculty of Biology and Earth Sciences at the University of Maria Curie-Skłodowska.
He obtained his doctoral degree in 1972, the postdoctoral degree in 1981, with the title of professor of biological sciences in 2002.
From 1979 he was an employee of the UMCS Nature Conservation Department, and in the years 1985-2001, he was its director. In 2002, he started working at the University of Rzeszów, where he co-organized the Faculty of Biology and Agriculture,
he was the head of the Department of Biosystematics, UR, and later the Department of Zoology, UR.
Prof. dr hab. Tadeusz Puszkar was a faunist, fascinated with issues from the border of phenology, ecology and bioindication, a visionary of new directions in the development of environmental biology.
He was a member of the Committee for Nature Conservation of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Lublin Scientific Society, the Rzeszów Scientific Society, the Main Board of the Polish Ecological Society and the District Board of the Polish Society of Ecological Engineering in Lublin. He actively participated in the works of the Scientific Council of the Poleski National Park, the Complex of Landscape Parks of the Lublin Province, the Provincial Commission for Nature Conservation in Zamość and Tarnobrzeg, and he was the deputy chairman of the Provincial Commission for Nature Conservation in Lublin.
In the person of Professor Tadeusz Puszkar, we say goodbye to an excellent specialist in the field of nature protection and environmental biology and behavioural ecology and an educator of many generations of biologists.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on 7th May 2021 (Friday) at 14.00 at the Monastery of the Dominican Fathers
in Jarosław, after which the deceased will be escorted to the New Cemetery at ul. Krakowska in Jarosław.
