The UMCS Museum and the Mała Misja Foundation would like to invite you to the opening of the exhibition 'People of Bangladesh' by Talha Bin Shams, which will take place on January 19, 2024, in the Exhibition Hall of the UMCS Museum (Main UMCS Library) at 2.30 pm.
Talha Bin Shams was born in the city of Saidpur in the north of Bangladesh. He studied painting and design during his undergraduate studies, and then trained in social sciences at Dhaka University in Bangladesh. In 2019, he came to Poland to study Intercultural Communication in Education and the Workplace at our University. He currently lives and works in Krakow.
His artworks are inspired by the music, dance, daily life, and the rich tradition of Bangladesh. Talha Bin Shams has so far presented his works at exhibitions in the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka, as well as in Poland: in Lublin, Chełm, Radom and Kazimierz Dolny.
The Mała Misja Foundation is an aid project by Radosław Jarecki and Monika Piątek that combines activities on two levels: local and global. The Foundation's activities include voluntary, educational and cultural projects, and the organisation of this exhibition is a great example of this.
The event is organised in collaboration with the KEN Provincial Pedagogical Library in Lublin.
The exhibition will be open until the end of February 2024.
You are cordially invited!
