On October 10-14, 2016 the Marie Curie Sklodowska University delegation visited Taiwan invited by the Ministry of Education of Taiwan (ROC). The delegation included UMCS Rector Prof. Stanisław Michałowski and UMCS Pro-Rector for Research and International Cooperation, Prof. Radosław Dobrowolski as well as representatives of UMC S Political Science Faculty: Deputy Dean for Research and International Cooperation Prof. Marek Pietraś and Dr. hab. Agata Ziętek, the recipient of the Taiwan Fellowship.
Intensive program of the visit included meetings in Ministry of Education and Ministry of Science and Development as well as visits in 5 univesrities: National Sun Yat-sen University, National Chengchi University, National Chiao Tung University, National University of Taiwan and Tamkang University(TKU). Visited universities are the leading higher eductaion and research institutions. They have extensive academic offer as well as broad range of reserach; in many cases compativle with teaching and research interests of UMCS Political Science Faculty
The effects of the visit include also signing of two agreements of cooperation, with National Sun Yat-sen University [NSYSU]) and with National Chengchi University [NCCU]). Both universities are internationally recognized schools, leading research and teaching both in humanities and in sciences. Signed agreements will provide basis for scietific cooperation, joint research projects and exchange of students.
During the meetings in the remaining universities the initial agreements were reached concerning future cooperation and exchange of scholars and students.
